A diving suit is either a garment or a device designed for the protection of a diver against the underwater environment. Divers' suit can also include a personal breathing apparatus. However, in most instances it only refers to the protective covering used by the divers. The breathing apparatus is generally referred to as mask, mouthpiece and air supply. The mask is normally made of soft vinyl, silicone, and neoprene, and has a wide range of fittings to fit the face, cheekbones, jaw line, chin strap.
Masks can either be made of rigid plastics or flexible membranes. The rigid plastics are available in different shapes and colors. The flexible membrane-based masks are usually made of neoprene and polyethylene materials. A helmet is a protective device used by divers to face the underwater environment, it protects the entire body, including the head, and helps to keep the wearer secure and comfortable during dives.
Various diving suits are available in the market. There are also several accessories, which can be used to make divers' suits more useful. These accessories include diving jackets, boots, and gloves. It also includes special devices such as dive computers and lights. Specialized dive suits are designed for special purposes like deep-sea divers, sport divers, and rescue divers.
Many types of dive suits are available today. Diving gear is divided into two types, namely, the protective gear and the active gear. Diving jackets and other protective gear are made up of two main types of material. The first is the neoprene and the second is the neoprene with Kevlar or another synthetic material. Both the types have their own advantages and disadvantages. The neoprene is lighter weight, and the material used is stronger than neoprene but can be easily punctured by other objects.
Kevlar is a synthetic material that is lighter than neoprene but not as strong. Also, both neoprene and Kevlar are very tough and can be punctured easily. Another type of material used to make up the protective clothing is the textile. Textile is generally used for making garments and other types of garments, which are used in the diving and scuba diving industry. It is usually made of polyester yarns and is highly breathable. But it can also be water resistant and will keep the wearer dry at the same time keeping the wearer warm and dry. Some types of textile are also included polyester fabric with nylon threads, that is extremely hard wearing but not breathable.
Various divers wear these types of clothes. In diving suits, the fabric is usually thick enough to keep the wearer warm but it should also be thin enough to allow the divers to breathe well and have room to move about comfortably in the suit. Diving helmets are usually made up of either hard plastic or foam and has a wide range of lenses and pads to cover the eyes, nose, and mouth.
